The Birgit Baldwin Fellowship, administered by the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study, has been awarded to our graduate student Ben Bigelow for the academic year 2015-16.His project is entitled, “The Life of the Soul: Vitalism and the Invisible in the Norwegian Fin de Siècle.” He will be living in Oslo for the year to conduct dissertation research on the relationship of popular-science discourses of the 1890s to the literary projects of Knut Hamsun, Arne Garborg, and Sigbjørn Obstfelder.
