Tony Sørensen, “Narrative Aspects of Svend Aage Madsen’s ‘Mange soere ting for'”

A lecture by Tony Sørensen, IT University of Copenhagen and Visiting Scholar, UC Berkeley.

This lecture will give an introduction to the narrative structures in Danish author Svend Aage Madsen’s Mange sære ting for, 2009. The question of identifying the narrator in the novel is addressed based on Genette Gerard’s theory on focalization. Furthermore the lecture will offer examples of how markers of fiction and reality are deliberately used to mislead the reader.

Reception to follow.
