Lecture: Mette Pedersen Høeg

“Zones of Indistinction: Indiscernibility in Contemporary Nordic Film and Literature”

Mette Pedersen Høeg, Visiting Student Researcher, University of Copenhagen

The lecture will draw on concepts from Critical Theory (Agamben, Derrida and Deleuze) to investigate the indiscernibility and indistinction characteristic of contemporary Nordic literary and filmic work. Presenting the argument of her dissertation, Mette Pedersen Høgh will introduce its theoretical and methodological approach and framework as well as give examples of the use of the concept of indiscernibility in analyses of works by Karl Ove Knausgård, Herta Müller and Lars von Trier.
