Göran Rosenberg: A Brief Stop on the Road from Auschwitz

Sponsored by the Department of Scandinavian, the Center for Jewish Studies at UC Berkeley, and Barbro Osher, Honorary Consul General of Sweden in California.

A reading by Swedish author and journalist Göran Rosenberg, from his recently translated memoir about his father’s life in Sweden after surviving Auschwitz.

Göran Rosenberg is one of Sweden’s most eminent writers and journalists. “I can’t think of a second generation work that is equal to A Brief Stop on the Road from Auschwitz“, wrote Philippe Sands in The Financial Times. “It is a towering and wondrous work about memory and experience, exquisitely crafted, beautifully written, humane, generous, devastating, yet somehow also hopeful.”

Books will be available for purchase in advance of the talk, at University Press Books: 2430 Bancroft Way, at Dana. See map here.
